For most popular email providers that offer IMAP/SMTP, the Outlook service already knows the correct SMTP server settings. If we don't know the correct settings, the service tries to discover them, but it doesn't always succeed. In this case, you should contact your email service provider to get the SMTP server settings, then try to login again using the advanced setting UI.
