INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to obtain the setup updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. This article also describes how to manually deploy the setup updates.

Plus d'informations

When you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, or when you upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you can check for setup updates. If you select the option to check for setup updates, the application downloads any new setup updates and applies them to the installation while the setup process is running.

Note: The setup updates include Update Rollup 7.

If the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server has an Internet connection, you can click Update installation files during the installation. If there are any setup updates, the updates are downloaded and applied to the installation.

If the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server does not have Internet access, or if you want to manually deploy the setup updates when you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you can obtain the updates by visiting the following Web sites.

Note These updates fix only the issues that are setup-related issues. These updates are not hotfixes that have to be applied after Microsoft Dynamics CRM is installed. Also, note the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles. These articles contain detailed steps that may be required if you install or upgrade Microsoft Dynamics CRM without the setup updates.

To obtain the setup updates, use the following URLs. To download the correct language for the server setup updates, you must add the correct Country Language Code ID (CLCID) value to the URLs. The CLCID values are listed in the table later in this article.

The following URLS are for x86-based platforms:

The following URLs are for x64-based platforms:

Note Each language version is unique, and the CLCID value is different. To obtain the correct language version, you must append the correct CLCID value for the language that you want to the end of the URL.

The following table lists the languages that are supported by Microsoft Dynamics CRM and the corresponding CLCID values.

For example, if you have the English version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and want to download the setup updates, you must add the English CLCID value (0x409) to the end of the URL. Therefore, to download the server setup updates for the English version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you must use the following link:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=94937&clcid=0x409To deploy the server setup updates, follow these steps:

  1. Create a configuration file that will be used during the installation.

For more information about the configuration files, see the implementation guide. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=104413

  2. In the configuration file, specify the correct location of the update, as follows.

    <Patch update="true">LOCATION OF SAVED FILE.MSP</Patch>
  3. Type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:

    <Drive>:\server\setupserver.exe /config C:\config.xml
Note This command calls the Setupserver.exe file from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM DVD. Then, the Setupserver.exe file is passed to the XML configuration file. Next, the setup process runs and applies the setup update to the installation. You can continue the installation wizard.

Issues that are fixed in the setup updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

The following table lists the hotfixes that are included in the setup updates for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. A hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is discussed in an associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article.
