This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for the Brazilian (br) region.
Symptoms
Assume that you have a purchase order that uses foreign currency in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) with the Brazil localization layer installed. When you apply a fixed exchange rate to the purchase order, the system uses a standard exchange rate instead of the fixed exchange rate to calculate the import tax amount. Therefore, the system generates incorrect import tax transactions.
Cause
This problem occurs because the system uses a standard exchange rate to check whether the currencies are different even though the taxTrans.TaxAmount field is recalculated in the saveNAdPos method in the Tax class.

Validation of the application hotfix installation
To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method whose name includes the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by comparing the KBXXXXXX.txt file against the objects in the AOT. By doing this, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.
