Microsoft first introduced the signing requirement for user mode PEs in Windows 11, version 21H2. These changes were serviced to the supported Windows client and Windows server products through Windows Update. All versions of Windows 11 natively support Trusted Signing for user mode PE files.

You can use a SharePoint Collect Signatures workflow to route documents created in Excel, Word, or InfoPath to one or more people for their signatures. Note: SharePoint 2010 workflows have been retired since August 1, 2020 for new tenants and removed from existing tenants on November 1, 2020.

A digital signature is an electronic, encrypted, stamp of authentication on digital information such as email messages, macros, or electronic documents. A signature confirms that the information originated from the signer and has not been altered.

It's recommended that you sign macros only after your solution has been tested and ready for distribution: when code in a signed macro project is changed in any way, its digital signature is removed.

When you try to create a new signature linked to your own account (cloud signatures), you notice that the newly created signature gets deleted after a while or you may find that the signature does not sync up with Outlook Web App (OWA).

This vulnerability might enable a malicious user to tamper with a signed VBA project without invalidating its digital signature. Therefore, we recommend that users apply the security updates that are listed in Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2020-0760.
