Symptoms
After you uninstall a Bing app on a Windows 8.1-based device, you experience one of the following issues.
Issue 1
You cannot open Bing apps. Specifically, when you click or tap the tile of an app, the app starts but then returns you to the Start screen. When this occurs, you don't receive any error messages.
Issue 2
When you try to install a Bing app from the Windows Store, the installation fails, and you receive the following error message:
App Name couldn’t be installed.
This error message may include error code 0x80073cf9.
The Bing apps that are affected by this issue include, but are not limited to, the following:-
Bing Food & Drink

Bing Health & Fitness

Finance
-
News
-
Sports
-
Travel
-
Weather
Cause
If a Bing app is removed when one or more Bing apps are running, the shared content for all currently installed Bing apps may be corrupted. You cannot open or install other Bing apps if the shared content is corrupted.
Resolution
To resolve these issues, use any of the following automatic or manual methods. After this process is complete, reinstall the uninstalled Bing apps from the Windows Store.
Automatically resolve the issues
To uninstall all affected apps from your device, install and run the following tool.

Choose Open when you are prompted to open or save UninstallAllBingApps.cab.

When the file is opened, double-click UninstallAllBingApps.ps1, select a folder to copy the script to, and then click Extract.

From the folder in which you saved the script, find UninstallAllBingApps.ps1, right-click it and select Run with Powershell.

If you are prompted to change the execution policy, press Enter to select Yes.
Note When you uninstall an application, customized application settings may be lost.
Manually resolve the issues
To resolve Issue 1, either repair or fully uninstall the installed Bing apps, and then reinstall the apps.
Note If the Bing app tile on the Start screen includes a small "x" in the lower-right corner, the app can be repaired. Otherwise, you must uninstall the app.How to repair a Bing app To repair a Bing app, follow these steps:

Click or tap the tile of the Bing app that you cannot open.

When you are prompted by the "This App Can’t Open" message, click or tap the Go to the Store link.

When you are prompted by the This app needs to be repaired" message, click or tap Repair.
How to uninstall a Bing appTo uninstall a Bing app, right-click the tile of the Bing app that you cannot open, and then click Uninstall at the bottom of the screen.
Note When you uninstall an application, customized application settings may be lost.To resolve Issue 2, repair or uninstall all locally installed Bing apps. To do this, follow these steps:

Repeat the "repair" and "uninstall" steps from the "Issue 1" section for each of the installed Bing apps in the following categories:

Open the Windows Store.

Right-click within the Windows Store area, and then click the Your apps option at the top of the screen.

If the Bing app that you want to install is not available, click All Apps in the Apps not installed on this PC list at the top of the screen.

In the list that opens, right-click the Bing app that you want to install.

Repeat step 5 for any other apps that you want to install.

Click Install at the bottom of the screen.
