This article describes an issue in which text in Polish, Bulgarian, or Greek does not display completely in Windows 8, Windows RT, or Windows Server 2012. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, check out the Prerequisites section.
Symptoms
This issue occurs when you try to upgrade Windows 8 or Windows RT to Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 in Windows Store, and the update fails, or a Windows app installation error occurs.

Prerequisites
To install this update, you must have the following updates installed in Windows 8, Windows RT, or Windows Server 2012.
- Update is available that prepares Windows 8 and Windows RT-based computers for the update to Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 RT
- Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 upgrade information is not displayed as expected in Windows Store
- An update to enable an automatic update from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 file information and notes
The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information" section. MUM, MANIFEST, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are very important to maintain the state of the updated components.
