Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use a database at compatibility level 100 in Microsoft SQL Server.

  • You have a table in the database that contains a PERSISTED computed column.

  • The PERSISTED computed column uses the SOUNDEX function.

In this scenario, if you run the DBCC CHECKDB command on the database, you may receive consistency errors for rows in the table.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

      Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2017 

      Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

      Cumulative Update 9 for SQL Server 2014 SP2
