An update is available through Windows Update for Windows Live Toolbar version 14 on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).This update improves the stability and the reliability of the toolbar. After you install this update, Windows Live Toolbar is upgraded to the latest version of Bing Bar.

Issues that this update resolves or improves

This update resolves some issues in which the toolbar causes Windows Internet Explorer to crash. Additionally, the update provides a deeper integration of the toolbar with Windows Live Hotmail and with Windows Live Messenger. After you install this update, the following extensions are installed in Internet Explorer:

How to uninstall Bing Bar

To uninstall Bing Bar from Windows Vista or from Windows 7, follow these steps:

  3. In the Uninstall or change program list, click Bing Bar, and then click Uninstall.

  4. Follow the instructions.

To uninstall Bing Bar from Windows XP, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  2. In the Currently installed programs list, click Bing Bar, and then click Remove.
