SUMMARY

When you use Outlook Express to retrieve mail from a Microsoft Exchange Server configured with Post Office Protocol (POP3), your e-mail messages are stored locally by default. This article describes how to move your e-mail messages back to your Microsoft Exchange Server.

To move messages from local storage on your computer back to the Exchange Server mailbox, follow these steps:

  1. In Microsoft Outlook Express, point to Export on the File menu, and click Messages.
  2. In the Export Messages dialog box, click OK.
  3. Select a profile for your Outlook or Exchange client when prompted.
  4. Select the folders that you want to export when prompted.

    You can select individual folders or click All Folders.
After selecting folders, the export process runs automatically.
