Opening Microsoft Word for Windows 95 Document Causes Video Corruption and Hangs System

When you open a Word for Windows 95, version 7.0 document in Word 2000, different colored lines and dots may appear within the text of the document and your computer may stop responding (hang).

Symbols Appear as Squares in Insert Symbol Dialog Box

When you click Symbol on the Insert menu, the symbols in the dialog box appear as square boxes rather than symbols, although the symbols seem to function correctly and you can see them in WordPad.

Dragging Text from a Web Page to a Word Document May Corrupt Display or Hang System

When you drag text from a Web page in your Web browser to a Word document, your computer screen may not redraw correctly, your computer may become unstable or stop responding (hang), or you may experience other unwanted results.

Click and Type Pointer Does Not Change

When you move your mouse pointer from left to right over a blank area of your document, the mouse pointer does not change to different Click and Type alignment pointers.
