When you try to access a multi-volume compressed file on a 3.5-inch disk that was created by the WinZip compression utility, you may receive the following message:
Please insert the last disk of the Multi-Volume set and click OK to continue.
If WinZip or any other ZIP creation program is installed, and .zip files are associated with them, this will not occur. CAUSE
The Compressed Folders feature of Windows Millennium Edition does not support a .zip file that spans multiple volumes.
RESOLUTION
Use File Manager (Fileman.exe) to copy or delete any compressed files or folders from the 3.5-inch disk drive. To use File Manager for this operation, follow these steps:
WORKAROUND
Install the compression utility (WinZip) that you used to create the original multiple-volume compressed file or folder, and then use that utility to delete the compressed file or folder.
