"Add a Component" Is Unavailable in Add/Remove Programs for Internet Explorer 5.5

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to add a component to Internet Explorer 5.5 in Windows 2000, the Add a component option is unavailable.

CAUSE

Only the Internet Explorer 5.5 browser component is downloaded in Windows 2000. You can install any additional available components from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) ).

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
