SUMMARY

This article describes how to configure one or more subnets in Windows 2000.

If you have more than one site on a Windows 2000 domain, you need to configure one or more subnets, depending on your infrastructure.

Creating a Subnet

  1. Open up the Active Directory Sites and Services Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in.
  2. Double-click the sites container.
  3. Right-click the subnets container.
  4. Click New Subnet.
  5. Type the Internet Protocol (IP) address and mask for that you are going to use.
  6. Select a site object for this subnet.
  7. Click OK.
