You can use the most frequently used features of Microsoft Excel in Microsoft Works Spreadsheet.

Some of the less frequently used features and formatting in Excel worksheets may not appear or work as expected when you open an Excel file in Works Spreadsheet.

The following list describes some data in an Excel worksheet that may be lost or truncated when you open the Excel worksheet in Works Spreadsheet.
  • All rows greater than of 16,384 rows do not appear.
  • Data in any cell that exceeds 2,047 characters is truncated to 2,047 characters.
The following list describes some cell features and characteristics that are available in Excel but do not work as expected when you open the Excel worksheet in Works Spreadsheet.
  • Hyperlinks are changed to text only and are not functional.
  • PivotTables are converted to text data.
  • Charts are not retained and must be re-created in Works Spreadsheet.
NOTE: Worksheet or cell protection must be removed in Excel before you can open an Excel worksheet in Works Spreadsheet.
