In Microsoft Works Suite, when you use the History tab of the Works Task Launcher to open a Microsoft Works 6 Word Processor document, the document is opened in Microsoft Word, but the document is not converted. The document is unreadable and looks like computer code.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if all of the following are true:
The Works 6 history is retained in the Works Task Launcher after the upgrade. When you click a Works Word Processor document in the Works Task Launcher History tab, the document is automatically opened in Word, which is the default word processor application after you upgrade to Works Suite. However, the file is opened in Works Word Processor native format and not converted to the Word format. RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, reinstall Works 6 as a basic (or complete) installation. To reinstall Works 6 as a basic installation, follow these steps:
