SYMPTOMS

When you copy cells from Microsoft Works Spreadsheet and then paste the cells into Works Word Processor, nothing happens and you receive no message about why the copy-and-paste operation does not work as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur after you follow these steps:
  1. Copy more than 400 cells in a Works Spreadsheet document.
  2. Switch to Works Word Processor.
  3. Click Paste Special on the Edit menu.
  4. Click Formatted Text (RTF) in the As box of the Paste Special dialog box.
Works Word Processor is limited by design to 400 cells or fewer when you use the Paste Special feature to paste data formatted as Rich Text Format (RTF).

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, limit the number of cells that you copy and paste at one time to 400 or fewer.
