To install Works or Works Suite, insert the Works or Works
Suite CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
If Setup
automatically starts, follow the instructions on the screen to install Works.
If Setup does not start automatically:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type the following line, and then click OK
cd-rom:\setup
where cd-rom is the drive letter of
your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive - Follow the instructions on the screen to install Works.
NOTE: If Setup does not start for Works 6, repeat steps 1 through 3,
except type the following line in step 2: cd-rom:\works6.msi
You can individually install the programs that are included in
Works Suite.
The following table contains a list of the Works Suite
programs that you can install individually, with the location and the name of
the installation file for each program.

The following list contains installation locations and
descriptions for some of tools that are included with Works.
- Instmsia.exe:
cd-rom:\MSWorks\Instmsia.exe
This file installs the Windows Installer that Works uses to install most of the
individual Works programs.
Setup automatically runs this tool before
it installs Works or Works Suite. - Mdac_typ.exe:
cd-rom:\redist\mdac\mdac_typ.exe
This file installs Microsoft Data Access Components version 2.1.
Works uses MDAC for data access. You can download the latest version of MDAC
from the following Microsoft Web site: - Ospack.msi:
cd-rom:\OSPack\OSPack.msi
The OSPACK.MSI file is the installation program that installs or
uninstalls the Works Suite 2001 Setup Launcher. The Setup Launcher is used to
install the other programs in Works.
