SUMMARY

Microsoft Office Outlook offers different features and functionality when used with different types of services. When you use Outlook with Microsoft Exchange Server, several features are added to its functionality. This article briefly describes these added features. You must be connected to a functioning Exchange Server mailbox to use these extra capabilities.

Message Recall Recall unread messages from the recipients, and, if you want, replace the recalled message with a new message.
Message TrackingTrack exactly when a message is received or opened by recipients. Consolidate all delivery, read, recall, and voting notifications in the original message.
Remote Mail Work with e-mail messages remotely, and connect to an online service to select only messages you want to download, so you do not spend time or waste disk space on messages you don't need right away.
VotingRequest and tally responses to a multiple-choice question you send in a message. Consolidate voting notifications in the original message.

Delegate Access and Folder PermissionsGive another person delegate access permission to work in your Outlook folders and send messages on your behalf. Or, assign a colleague permission to read, modify, or create items in your public and private folders on Microsoft Exchange Server.
Group SchedulingSchedule a meeting and reserve a location and equipment. See the free/busy times for meeting invitees and resources.
Public FoldersCollect, organize, and share files and Outlook items with others on your team or across your organization. Participate in public, online discussions with others or share a contact or task list with a group.
Organize Web Pages in a Public FolderCollect Web pages for a group to share, and keep track of how often pages are used, when they are updated, who owns the pages and more.
Out of Office AssistantManage e-mail messages while you're out of the office. Set up an automatic response to incoming messages that lets people know you are away.
Digital SignatureSign a message with a digital signature to ensure that the message is not altered by someone else.
EncryptionEncrypt the body of a message to ensure that the message and its attachments are not readable by anyone other than the recipients you select.
