Article ID: 307078 - Last Review: December 1, 2007 - Revision: 1.4 Desktop Icons and Taskbar Keep Remote User's Settings After the User Logs Off Remote DesktopThis article was previously published under Q307078 SYMPTOMS
When you as a remote user log on to a remote session by using Remote Desktop, the icons and the taskbar on the remote computer still reflect your settings even after you log off and a local user logs on.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the remote session saves the desktop icons and taskbar positions in the current user profile.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, after a remote user logs off, the local user must resize or rearrange the desktop icons and taskbar settings to restore them to their previous positions.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. | Article Translations
