SYMPTOMS

When you try to change the Ask me before synchronizing the items setting for Offline Files, you may not be able to clear or to select this check box. Additionally, if you have the Group Policy setting Synchronize all offline items before logging off turned on, the Ask me before synchronizing the items check box may be cleared when you view the Synchronization Settings dialog box for an offline folder.

This behavior occurs when you use an administrator account to log on to a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows 2000.
