SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Office 2003 document in Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac or in Microsoft Office X for Mac , you may see the following warning message:
Permission for this document is currently restricted. If you are not running Microsoft Office 2003 or an application that supports documents with restricted permission, you can read this document by downloading the Rights Management Add-on for Internet Explorer.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Office 2004 for Mac does not support Information Rights Management (IRM) feature of Microsoft Office 2003.
