On This PageSYMPTOMSYou cannot view a recurring appointment that has exceptions in Microsoft Outlook Web Access. However, you can view this appointment in Microsoft Outlook. Additionally, a Microsoft Collaboration Data Object (CDO) event that has an event ID 8217 is logged in the Application log on the server that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. CAUSEThis problem occurs if one of the exceptions is incorrectly stamped as an IPM.Note property. The exception should be stamped with the following property: IPM.OLE.CLASS.{00061055-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. MORE INFORMATIONExchange 2000 Server does not expand the recurring appointment series if one of the exceptions in the series is corrupted. After you install this hotfix, Exchange 2000 Server will be able to fix the corrupted exception. Or, Exchange 2000 will be able to skip the corrupted exception and expand the rest of the recurring appointment series.
