More Information
Known issue
Users who have extended ASCII characters or double-byte character set (DBCS) characters in their Windows user names have problems using the Office 2010 Help system for client applications.
Office 2010 Help has two operation modes, offline mode and online mode. In offline mode, users cannot view category links or free text search results. Any user who has the previously mentioned characters in their logon name, or who uses a Windows XP operating system language in which the Temporary Internet Files folder name has any of the previously mentioned characters is affected by this issue when they use offline help. For users who are running the Greek version of Office 2010 in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2, an offline search for words that end with the final lowercase Sigma letter "ς" (U+03C2) returns no results. This issue does not occur when Help is set to online mode.
