Applies ToSQL Server 2008 R2

Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

  • You run a data collector of the Management Data Warehouse to monitor the performance of a SQL Server 2008 R2 database server. The server has many connections.

  • The data collector collects the query statistics that pertain to the SQL Server 2008 R2 database server.

In this scenario, the data collector requires a long time to collect the query statistics.
