Applies ToExchange Server 2010 Enterprise Exchange Server 2010 Standard

Symptoms

Assume that a calendar contains some recurring meetings or appointments in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment. Additionally, assume that you try to change a single item in a series of recurring calendar items (for example, you change the recurring range of a single item), or you try to publish the calendar's free/busy data. In this scenario, the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants service (MSExchangeMailboxAssistants.exe) crashes on the Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox server.

Cause

This issue occurs because a System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException exception occurs when the Exchange Mailbox Assistants service processes a recurring calendar item that contains corrupted recurrence binary large object (BLOB) data.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

2746164 Description of Update Rollup 6 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2
