INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you click the Publish Internet Free/Busy button to publish free/busy information in Outlook 2010, you are not prompted to authenticate the information. Additionally, the free/busy information is not published.

  • After you install an add-in that uses a custom task pane in Word 2010, the ribbon does not correctly reflect the status of the document in some cases. For example, when you select some text in a document, the formatting of the text is not reflected correctly on the Home tab.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar\Internet Free/Busy

  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

  4. Type Force FB Publish, and then press Enter.

  5. In the Details pane, right-click Force FB Publish, and then click Modify.

  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  7. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

  8. Type InetFB Publish ShowUI, and then press Enter.

  9. In the Details pane, right-click InetFB Publish ShowUI, and then click Modify.

  10. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

  11. Exit Registry Editor.

File information

This hotfix package may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix package contains only the files that you must have to resolve the issue that listed in this article.

The global version of this hotfix package uses a Microsoft Windows Installer package to install the hotfix package. The dates and the times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the following table. When you view the file information, the date is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
