Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have a report that uses the Globals!TotalPages variable in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.
-
You perform an in-place upgrade to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services (SSRS 2008 R2) or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS 2012).
-
You export the report to PDF or TIFF format.
In this scenario, the Globals!TotalPages variable incorrectly returns 0.
Notes-
This issue does not occur when you perform a side-by-side upgrade.
-
If you export the report to MHTML, Word, or Excel format, the Globals!TotalPages variable incorrectly returns the current page number.
Cause
The issue occurs because there is a bug in the compiled report definition parser.
