Symptoms
Assume that you receive an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) X12 997 functional acknowledgement message in a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 environment. The message is in the HIPAA 5010 standard and contains an ST03 element. In this situation, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Error: 1 (Field level error)SegmentID: STPosition in TS: 1Data Element ID: ST02Position in Segment: 2Data Value: 3: Too many data elements
Cause
This issue occurs because the ST03 element definition is missing from the 5010 version of the EDI X12 997 schema.
