This article describes update KB2883036 for Microsoft Office 2013 KMS activation component that was released on August 12, 2014. This update also applies to Office Home and Student 2013 RT.
This update includes stability and performance improvements. Please note that this update does not apply to Office 365 editions such as Office 365 Home.

Improved Office Software Protection Platform script (ospp.vbs) with a link to the corresponding solution document for the error messages.

Fixed the issue by which non-administrator users cannot activate Office 2013 with a Multiple Activation Key (MAK) online. The users receive the following error message:
An unspecified error has occurred. Your request cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later. (0x80070190)

This update applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It does not apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft Office 365 Home.

Start an Office 2013 application, such as OneNote 2013.

On the File menu, click Account.

For Office 2013 Click-to-Run installations, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installations, the Update Options item is not displayed.
