Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create a resource mailbox in an environment that has Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 or a later version update rollup installed, or Cumulative Update 3 for Exchange Server 2013.

  • You set a delegate for the resource mailbox by running the Set-CalendarProcessing cmdlet.

  • A meeting request is sent to the resource mailbox.

  • The resource delegate receives an auto-forwarded invitation.

In this scenario, the resource delegate cannot see the original meeting request body or the added instructions.

Cause

This issue occurs because the RTF and HTML text encoding are not handled correctly.

Resolution

To resolve this issue in Exchange Serve 2010, install the following update rollup:

2917508 Description of Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 To resolve this issue in Exchange Server 2013, install the following cumulative update:

2926248 Description of Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1
