Symptoms

When you turn on or turn off the Enterprise Mode feature in the Tools menu of Internet Explorer 11, Internet Explorer crashes, and you receive the following error message:

Internet Explorer has stopped working

This issue occurs when you specify a URL in the "Enable" string value for the following registry key which is used to enable the Enterprise Mode option:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseModeFor example, the Enable string value is set to http://localhost:13000.

Note When you set an HTTP URL to the "Enable" string value, Internet Explorer sends information about which sites are being used with Enterprise Mode to the specified URL. This information is sent to understand what sites might need to be added to a centrally managed site list.

Cause

This issue occurs because after Internet Explorer sends the information when you enable or disable Enterprise Mode, a problem with Internet Explorer's code causes the crash.
