Symptoms

Assume that you are using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS 2012) or SSRS 2014 on a 32-bit Windows operating system. When you restart Report Services Windows Service on New Year's Day (for example, 1/1/2013 or 1/1/2012), Event ID 123 in Event Viewer and an SSRS trace log is not created. Reporting Services does not write log entries on January 1.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, obtain Service Pack 1 for SQL Server 2014.

Workaround

To work around this issue, change the time from January 1 to another date, start SSRS, and then change the time back.
