Symptoms

Assume that you deploy a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Integration Services (SSIS) package to a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 instance. Assume also that the package contains more than one concurrent XML tasks that consume the same XSLT style sheet. When you run the package, you receive the following error message:

[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "The process cannot access the file '<File Path>' because it is being used by another process."

Note This issue also occurs in SQL Server 2012.

Resolution

The problem was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2014 SP1

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2014

Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP2

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. See the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
