Symptoms
Assume that you have a report that contains nested tablix data regions in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Report Services (SSRS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Report Services (SSRS 2014). When you try to export the report to "hard page break" rendering formats such as a PDF, SSRS can't finish the report rendering, and you receive the following error message or time-out in the web browser:
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Additionally, you receive the "ReportServerStorageException" error in the Reporting Services log files.Note This issue only impacts certain instead of all reports that have nested tablix.
Resolution
Cumulative Update information
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
