Symptoms
The Microsoft.BizTalk.Edi.BatchingOrchestration.BatchingService orchestration performance is decreased over time, and there's a backlog in the BizTalkMsgBoxDb Spool and InstanceStateMessageReferences_<HOST> tables.
This issue is more prominent when the following conditions are true:-
The EDI Batching termination criteria is configured to let the orchestration instance run longer.

The EDI Batching release criteria is configured to release the outgoing batch more frequently.

There's a large load of messages being processed by EDI BatchingService orchestration.

For BizTalk Server 2013 R2
The fix that resolves this issue is included in Cumulative Update 5 for BizTalk Server 2013 R2.
