Symptoms

Assume that you use SQL Server 2014 or 2016. When you run multiple SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages that are located in the Integration Services Catalog database (SSISDB) at the same time, you may frequently encounter a deadlock issue in SSISDB. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

An error has occurred:  System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Transaction (Process ID 58) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the foloowing cumulative updates for SQL Server:

      Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

      Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

      Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2014 SP2

      Cumulative Update 12 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and security fixes that were included in the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
