Photos Legacy is the app for Microsoft’s Legacy Collections, Albums, and Video Editor. The legacy versions of the Photos app gather photos from your PC, phone, and other devices, and put them in one place where you can more easily find what you’re looking for.

Users now have the option to use either the new Photos app or the legacy version, depending on their preferences. In the search box on the taskbar, type photos and then select the Photos app from the results.

If your PC is running the new version of Photos and you'd like to revert to the Photos legacy version, open the Photos app, select Settings, and under the About section select Get Photos Legacy.

If you're more comfortable with the older version of the Photos app, you can continue using it on Windows. The Photos Legacy app includes functions such as a video editor, slideshow creator, and album maker.
