Advisory ServicesAdvisory Services is an hourly fee-based, consultative support option that provides proactive support beyond break-fix product support needs. Typical Advisory Services cases involve providing recommendations or best practices to solve problems leveraging Microsoft Products and Technologies. These scenarios include topics such as migrations, product customizations, performance degradation analysis, deployment training, scaling infrastructure, server recovery, optimization, supportability, risk analysis, root cause analysis, extensibility, architecture, and knowledge transfer. The delivery time for Advisory Services is generally 20 hours or less and consists of a specific service scope. It is designed for developers, IT Professionals, and other customers who do not require traditional onsite consulting or sustained account management services that are available from other Microsoft support options. Microsoft Professional Break-fix support is an incident based, fixed price, reactive support option that focuses on a specific problem, error message, or functionality that is not working as designed. Service Description Microsoft Advisory Services provides short-term advice and guidance for problems not covered by Problem Resolution Services as well as requests for consultative assistance for design, development, and deployment issues. Advisory Services are charged at an hourly rate of $210 U.S. The scope of the engagement is estimated prior to the delivery of the service, and a contract must be executed between the customer and Microsoft before Microsoft begins work. The following Advisory Services are currently available only in the United States and Canada.
