Symptoms
You may experience the following two symptoms on a high DPI device that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2:
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have a high-DPI Windows 8.1-based device that has the Intel Smart Connect (iSCT) feature enabled.
-
The device is not connected to any external displays.
-
The device is put to sleep (System Power State S3).
-
An iSCT update occurs. This usually occurs automatically about 15 minutes after the device goes to sleep.
-
You resume the device from sleep.
In this situation, the device switches to 100% DPI until you restart it.
-
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have a high-DPI Windows 8.1-based device that rotates the screen based on device orientation.
-
The device has a lid.
-
The "Closing the lid" behavior is set to Do nothing.
-
You close the lid, and then you rotate the device to cause at least one screen rotation.
-
You open the lid.
In this situation, the device briefly displays 100% DPI on the Start screen unexpectedly, and then changes back to the standard DPI.
