Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You run an application or an add-in on a Windows RT 8.1, a Windows 8.1 or a Windows Server 2012 R2-based device.

  • The application or the add-in contains Visual Basic for Application (VBA) macros.

In this scenario, the application or the add-in crashes.

Cause

This issue occurs because a stack overflow exception generates when the Format function calls the VarFormat function.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install update 2919355.
