Symptoms

Assume that you have an Intel 64-bit architecture-based device that is running Windows 8.1. After you enable a hypervisor solution on the device, the device cannot start. Additionally, a "0x0000005C" Stop error (HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED) occurs.

Cause

This issue occurs because the hypervisor solution does not handle multiple hardware interrupts as expected.

Resolution
