Notice

This update is no longer available. To fix the issues that are described in this article, install the latest Microsoft Office update from the following Microsoft Learn article:

Latest updates for versions of Office that use Windows Installer (MSI)

This article describes update KB3085444 for Microsoft Office 2016 that was released on November 10, 2015. This update has a prerequisite.

Be aware that the update in Download Center applies to Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?)

Improvements and fixes

Fixes the following issue:

When you open a document that contains a chart and the chart uses one of the new chart types (a treemap, sunburst, histogram, box and whisker, Pareto, or waterfall chart) in Office 2016 applications, an image of the chart is displayed in Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 and Microsoft Word 2016. In Microsoft Excel 2016, a bounding box that has a message is displayed instead of the chart.

Note See An image of a chart or a bounding box that has a message is displayed instead of the chart in Office 2016 applications for more information.
