This article describes update KB3141500 for Microsoft Visio 2016, which was released on February 7, 2017. This update has a prerequisite.
Be aware that the update on the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?)
Improvements and fixes
This update fixes the following issues:
-
When you import a high-resolution image to Visio 2016, the image appears blurry.
Note To fix this issue, you must follow the steps in the "Registry information" section to modify the registry. -
The gradient of a shape is lost when you copy and paste the shape from Visio 2016 to Word 2016.
-
When you right-click an embedded object in Visio 2016, the Edit and Open commands are unavailable on the submenu of the object.

For Office 2016 Click-to-Run installations, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installations, the Update Options item isn't displayed.

Exit all Microsoft Office applications.

Start Registry Editor:

In Windows 10, go to Start, enter regedit in the Search box, and then select regedit.exe in the search results.

In Windows 7, select Start and type regedit in the Search programs and files text box, and then select regedit.exe in the search results.

In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, move you mouse to the upper-right corner, select Search and type regedit in the search text box, and then select regedit.exe in the search results.

Locate and then select the following registry subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Visio\Application

On the Edit menu, point to New, and then select DWORD Value.

Type SupportHighResImage, and then press Enter.
-
In the Details pane, press and hold (or right-click) SupportHighResImage, and then select Modify.

In the Value data box, type 1, and then select OK.
-
Exit Registry Editor.
How to uninstall this updateWindows 10

Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

In the list of updates, locate and select KB3141500, and then select Uninstall.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

Enter windows update, select Windows Update, and then select Installed Updates.
