Article ID: 2421014 - Last Review: May 16, 2011 - Revision: 5.0 FIX: "A severe error occurred on the current command" error message when you use the Freetexttable or the Containstable function on an indexed view in a CTE query in SQL Server 2008 or in SQL Server 2008 R2
Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release. On This PageSYMPTOMSAssume that you have a named instance in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 installed on a server. When you run a Common Table Expression (CTE) query that uses the Freetexttable or Containstable function on an indexed view, the CTE query fails, and an access violation exception occurs. Additionally, you receive the following error message: Msg 0, Level 11, State 0, Line 0 A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded.
