FIX: A SQL Server Agent job incorrectly runs after the specified end date in SQL Server 2008 and in SQL Server 2008 R2

Consider the following scenario:

• You create a SQL Server Agent job. You set the following schedule settings for the job in SQL Server 2008:
  
  • You set the schedule type to recurring.
  • You set the frequency to daily.
  • You specify a start date and an end date for duration.
• You restart the SQL Server Agent service after the specified end date.

In this scenario, the job incorrectly runs.

For example, you schedule a job to run between July 2 and July 5 daily. However, the job runs again on July 7.

This issue occurs because of an error in the scheduling algorithm of the SQL Server Agent service.
