Support for Internet Explorer ended on June 15, 2022
Internet Explorer 11 has been permanently disabled through a Microsoft Edge update on certain versions of Windows 10. If any site you visit needs Internet Explorer 11, you can reload it with Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge. We recommend you use Microsoft Edge for a faster, more secure and more modern web browsing experience.

PROCEDURE
How to troubleshoot basic issues
To troubleshoot basic issues that are related to Microsoft 365, follow these guidelines:

Make sure that the computer meets the system requirements. For more information, see System requirements for Microsoft 365 and Office.

Make sure that you have installed all important updates on the computer.
-
Make sure that the computer is running a Windows operating system that's supported by Microsoft.
-
Try to use a different user ID. This helps to check whether the issue is related to the Microsoft 365 user account.
-
Try to use a different Windows or Macintosh account. This helps to check whether the issue is related to a user profile.
-
Try to use a different computer. This helps to check whether the issue is related to the computer.
How to troubleshoot some common error messages
Error message 1
When you try to access a secure webpage, you get one of the following error messages:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.
This page can't be displayed.
To work around this issue, follow these steps:

Close all active windows in Internet Explorer.

Open Internet Explorer.
-
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
-
In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
-
In the Security area of the Settings list, make sure that Use TLS 1.0 is selected.
-
Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Error message 2
When you try to access a webpage, you get the following error message:
Your security settings don't allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. Click here for options...

Under Select a zone to view or change security settings, click Trusted Sites.

Under Security level for this zone, click Custom level.

In the Settings list, under ActiveX controls and plug-ins, make sure that the following settings are configured as follows:

Under Binary and script behaviors, select Enable (if it isn't already selected).

Under Download signed ActiveX controls, select Prompt (if it isn't already selected).

Under Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins, select Enable (if it isn't already selected).

Under Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting*, select Enable (if it isn't already selected).

Under Miscellaneous, select Enable for the Launching applications and unsafe files setting (if it isn't already selected).

Click OK, and then click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Error message 3
When you try to download a file from a website, you get the following error message:

In the Settings list, under Downloads, select Enable for the File Download setting (if it isn't already selected).

Error message 4
When you try to access a webpage by using Internet Explorer 8 on a Windows XP-based computer, you get the following error message:

In Internet Explorer 8, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.

Under Settings, in the Security area, select the Enable native XMLHTTP support check box, and then click OK.
