Issue that this hotfix package fixes

When you print a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 presentation by selecting Pure Black and White in the print settings, the printer prints a grayscale result.

Note This issue does not occur in Microsoft XPS Document Writer.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

After you install the hotfix package, follow these steps to enable the hotfix:

Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\PowerPoint
*To enable this fix for PowerPoint 2013, navigate to the following subkey

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\PowerPoint

No hotfix is necessary to enable this fix for PowerPoint 2013.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type IgnoreDevModeColor, and then press ENTER.
In the Details pane, right-click IgnoreDevModeColor, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor.
