FIX: "Send to Mail Recipient" function fails when you try to send a note or signature through Windows Journal if a 32-bit version of Outlook is installed on a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or of Windows Server 2008 R2
You have a 32-bit version of Microsoft Outlook installed on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or a 64-bit version of Windows Server 2008 R2. However, when you try to use the
Send to Mail Recipient function to send a note or signature through Windows Journal, the operation fails. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
