SYMPTOMS

You may receive some unexpected null values in the result of any one of the following operations:
  • You import data from a data source by using Microsoft PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of an error in the encoding logic that is used by the Vertipaq storage engine.

Note The VertiPaq storage engine is used for in-memory multidimensional databases in Excel workbooks. This includes PowerPivot workbooks on a SharePoint site.
