Not sure if this is the right fix? We've added this issue to our memory dump diagnostic which can confirm.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running a 32-bit version of Windows 7.

  • You run a telephony application that uses the Remote Access Service (RAS) Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) driver on the computer.

In this scenario, you receive a Stop error that resembles the following:

0x000000D1 ( parameter1 , parameter2 , parameter3 , parameter4 )

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Notes

  • The parameters in this error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.

  • Not all "0x000000D1" Stop errors are caused by this issue.

Cause

This issue occurs because the RAS PPPoE driver (Rasppoe.sys) tries to perform an operation that is not permitted during the Deferred Procedure Call (DPC) processing.
